Reade Seligmann, one of the three Duke University lacrosse players who spent a year defending himself against high-profile rape allegations, discusses the experience today in a rare, lengthy profile in The Brown Daily Herald.
The article describes Mr. Seligmann, who has transferred to Brown, as gregarious, eloquent, and unfailingly polite. But he is “unforgiving,” the article says, about two subjects: Michael B. Nifong, the prosecutor who recklessly pursued the rape charges and was later forced to resign from his position, and the accuser, who changed her story multiple times. All charges against the players were dropped in April, and Duke reached a confidential settlement with them in June.
Mr. Seligmann says he plans to start a club similar to the Innocence Project, a nonprofit organization dedicated to exonerating prisoners through DNA testing, while he is at Brown. —Brad Wolverton
