"High-School Exams May Affect Colleges" (The Chronicle, September 3) introduces speculative statements about the reasons for taking the GED tests.
Anyone who thinks the tests are an easy alternative to high school is completely mistaken. In fact, the tests are designed so that 40 percent of high-school graduates will not pass them. ...
