'Excellence in Teaching'

My colleague KC Johnson's take on Brooklyn College's appreciation of student opinion about teaching is not widely shared in these parts, but he does help Piper Fogg make the point that we might all learn from the experiences of small liberal-arts colleges and large public universities ("Teaching Your Way to Tenure," The Chronicle, September 1).
