Ex-Official of Sallie Mae to Head Office of Federal Student Aid
A 20-year veteran of the student-lending giant Sallie Mae has been chosen to head the Education Department's efforts to modernize the federal student-aid programs.
Theresa S. Shaw will replace Greg Woods, who resigned in May after leading the Office of Federal Student Aid since it was established, in 1998.
