Evolutionary Biologist Quits Editorship of For-Profit Journal to Start Less-Costly Alternative
A new front has opened up in the war over rising subscription costs for scholarly journals. One scholar has quit the for-profit scientific journal that he founded 12 years ago, and has started a less costly, not-for-profit journal -- with his own money.
