Ethics-Training Rule Is Suspended
The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services said last week that it would suspend indefinitely a new policy requiring universities to educate researchers about federal rules concerning scientific fraud and about other issues of research ethics.
The decision followed a letter from the chairman of the House Commerce Committee, who said the agency may not have followed proper procedure when it issued the policy.
