Ethics Education and Ethical Behavior
To the Editor:
Gordon Marino writes disparagingly about the teaching of ethics ("Before Teaching Ethics, Stop Kidding Yourself," The Review, February 20), and some of his points are valid. However, to state that "ethics missionaries are driven by the assumption that improving our moral lives is a matter of developing our conceptual understanding and analytical acumen," as Marino does, is to miss a large part of what teaching ethics is all about.
