The apparent defense by engineering professors and administrators at Ohio University, as well as the slow response by administrators, to plagiarism charges is incomprehensible, as is the claim that responsibility for plagiarism rests with the plagiarizers alone ("The Plagiarism Hunter," The Chronicle, August 11). ...
To classify the claimed offenses as minor transgressions causes harm to the justified reputation for integrity and honesty of the engineering
