Engineering Students Go Global
To the Editor:
In Scott Carlson's "A Global Approach to Engineering" (The Chronicle, June 1), he quotes a Cummins Inc. official on the difference between the mind-sets of Asian and American engineers, to the effect that Asian engineers never say no but are more apt to say, "We'll try."
When it comes to providing international experience for our engineering students, we no longer have the luxury of telling them no. For all the reasons cited in Mr. Carlson's piece, we must find
