Endowments Grow at Harvard, Stanford
Harvard University's endowment grew by $3.3-billion over the 2006 fiscal year and now stands at a record-high $29.2-billion, the university announced last week.
The endowment earned a 16.7-percent return on its investments for the fiscal year that ended June 30, down from 19.2 percent in the 2005 fiscal year and 21.1 percent in the 2004 fiscal year. Still, based on preliminary figures, the 2006 results were slightly higher than the median return earned by the 25 largest university
