Ending the Hypocrisy in Big-Time Sports

To the Editor: Since the time of Theodore Roosevelt, when "Big-Time" college football joined professional baseball as the second major spectator sport in the United States, there have been continuous scandals concerning the academic standing, amateur status, and off-the-field deportment of "student-athletes."
