Ending Remediation at CUNY Won't Hurt Low-Income Students, Report Says
City University of New York officials are basking in the glow of a new, independent report that gives an overall thumbs-up to their remediation reforms.
CUNY's plan to take most remedial classes out of the system's 11 senior colleges by 2001 will not, in the aggregate, diminish affordable and equitable access to higher education in the city, a five-member panel of out-of-state college officials concluded late last month.
