Emory U. Buys Rushdie Archive

Salman Rushdie, the renowned essayist and writer of fiction, will join the Emory University faculty in the spring and has sold his personal archive to the Atlanta institution for an undisclosed sum. The archive includes manuscripts, journals, letters, and photographs.

The faculty appointment, announced this month, marks Mr. Rushdie's first lengthy relationship with a university. He will teach in the English department for a minimum of one month every spring for the next five years,
