Emory Gets Big Gift With Ties to Coke
Emory University recently announced a $261.5-million gift from the Robert W. Woodruff Foundation, the philanthropy founded by the longtime president of the Coca-Cola Company.
The gift comes a decade after a $295-million gift from the Woodruff Foundation and two other foundations started by Coca-Cola pioneers, Joseph B. Whitehead and Lettie Pate Evans. In addition, Mr. Woodruff personally gave Emory $105-million in 1979.
