Efforts to Increase Cybersecurity on Campuses in an Era of Shrinking Budgets

I do not take issue with many of the observations brought to light by the investigation into the audits of campus computer systems ("Insecure and Unaware," The Chronicle, May 7). Cybersecurity is a serious issue for our nation, and colleges and universities must do their part to improve the security of campus networks and information systems. I am disappointed, however, that there is little acknowledgement of the steps being taken to improve the situation. While
