Educational Endowments See 16.9-Percent Return in 2007
Educational endowments posted an average 16.9-percent return on their investments in the 2007 fiscal year, up from 10.6 percent in the previous year. They were the strongest results since 2000, according to a survey released on Thursday.
The Commonfund's annual "Benchmarks Study of Educational Endowments" surveyed 767 endowments at U.S. public and private colleges and universities, and independent secondary schools, as well as state-institution-related foundations. Commonfund
