Education Dept. Seeks More Student Data
The U.S. Department of Education has found a new way to try to get colleges to provide more data on the cost of attendance and on student-learning outcomes.
While Secretary of Education Margaret Spellings continues to promote legislation to create a national database for tracking the progress of individual students through college, the Education Department is making plans to collect similar information, in summary form, through new federal regulations.
