Education Dept. Ignores Rife Errors in Gender-Equity Data From College Sports Programs, 'USA Today' Reports
Widespread errors in gender-equity reports compiled by colleges under the Equity in Athletics Disclosure Act remain largely ignored by the U.S. Department of Education, USA Today reported last week.
The Equity in Athletics Disclosure Act requires colleges that receive federal funds to disclose how much they spend on women's and men's sports, as a means of monitoring their compliance with federal gender-equity laws.
