Education Department's Lender Inquiry May Be Far From Over
An investigation by the U.S. Education Department into student-loan practices at major American colleges may be far from a resolution, even though more than 90 percent of the 921 institutions first queried this summer have been dropped from the process.
In November the department identified the 55 colleges that received a second round of letters in the investigation, revealing a mix of institutions and practices that suggest no single indicator of suspicious behavior, experts
