Education Department Wants to Create Grant Program Linked to Graduation Rates
The U.S. Department of Education released a document last month that provides a glimpse at the Bush administration's priorities for the next reauthorization of the Higher Education Act. Among the proposals outlined is one that is likely to worry public-college officials: the creation of a grant program that would reward colleges for retaining students and graduating them on time.
