The U.S. Education Department’s Institute of Education Sciences has issued its Digest of Education Statistics, 2006, an annual statistical compilation that gathers data released over the last 12 months about all levels of education. Many of the tables in the digest are expanded versions of those we’ve reported on in the year just past. Some of the data will appear in The Chronicle’s annual Almanac Issue for 2007-8, due out in late August. —Andrew Mytelka
