Education Department, Citing Lack of Funds, Won't Award New Graduate Fellowships
Students entering graduate school next fall shouldn't bother applying to the U.S. Department of Education for fellowship money.
Education Department officials said last week that they would not hold new competitions in 1999 for students who want funds from the department's two primary grant programs for graduate students: the Jacob K. Javits Fellowship Program and the Graduate Assistance in Areas of National Need
