Editor of 'DoubleTake' Squares Off With Former Sponsor; 'History and Theory' Devotes Thematic Issue to Art History

Last year, the Center for Documentary Studies at Duke University announced that it no longer could afford to publish DoubleTake, the acclaimed magazine of literature and photojournalism edited by Robert Coles. If Mr. Coles, the Harvard University child psychiatrist, could come up with the money to keep the magazine going, the center would turn it over to him.
