Economics Professor Backs Technology to Protect Copyrighted Materials
Stan Liebowitz, a professor of managerial economics at the University of Texas at Dallas, argues in support of technologies that limit consumers' access to copyrighted material in a forthcoming book tentatively titled Internet Cents and Nonsense (Amacom Books). Unlike many intellectual-property scholars, Mr. Liebowitz says that such "digital rights management" technologies would not give too much power to the creators of new works.
