East Coast Colleges Assess Bonnie's Wrath
More than 40 colleges along the coast from South Carolina to southern Virginia were assessing damage caused last week by Hurricane Bonnie, which blew ashore at North Carolina's Cape Fear.
The storm brought 115-mile-per-hour winds, ripping away rooftops, uprooting trees, and swamping roads. There were no immediate reports of deaths or serious injuries.
Most colleges along the hurricane's path had canceled classes or evacuated.
