E-Mail Message Fuels Controversy Involving David Noble
Simon Fraser University has disclosed an e-mail message showing that despite his denials, its president tried to prevent the appointment of David Noble, a vocal critic of distance education, to a prestigious endowed teaching position.
The president, Michael Stevenson, and other administrators of the British Columbia institution have denied taking any steps to block Mr. Noble's appointment to the position, which remains unfilled.
