Drunk-Driving Charge Spurs President to Quit

The president of Roger Williams University, Joseph H. Hagan, resigned last month, less than a week after he was arrested on charges of drunken driving.

"He was liked and respected on campus, and there is no one who is happy about this turn of events," said Hugh M. Ryan, a spokesman for the Rhode Island institution.
