Drop in Conference Attendance Leads Business-Officers Group to Lay Off 8
National higher-education associations are seeing dropping attendance at conferences, causing at least one to cut its staff. The organizations blamed the decrease on cutbacks in state budgets and lingering travel fears in the wake of September 11.
