A Business School's Drive for Accreditation Sidelines Some Professors

Thomas J. Grant, an associate professor of accounting at Kutztown University of Pennsylvania, was told this fall that he would no longer be allowed to teach business majors, a decision he learned about just five days after he won a teaching award for doing just that. His longtime colleague E. James Windle learned in August that he had been assigned to teach courses he had never taught. He decided to retire early and left before the semester even started.
