Drake U. Professor Takes Students to Uganda to Learn About Development Firsthand
A native of Uganda, Jimmy Senteza realized that he was in a good position to teach his students about harsh realities in the developing world.
So Mr. Senteza, an associate professor of finance at Drake University, spent two years creating a course, "Sustainable Development in Africa," that covers issues like HIV, human rights, microfinance, and tribalism. In May the course culminated in a three-week journey through Uganda for his 21 students.
