The new poet laureate of the United States is Donald Hall, a prolific writer and onetime professor at the University of Michigan at Ann Arbor, according to today’s Washington Post. Mr. Hall, author of the influential essay “Poetry and Ambition,” succeeds Ted Kooser as poet laureate.
