Does It Make Sense to Use Fiction as a Guide to Bioethics?

In "Novel Perspectives on Bioethics" (The Review, May 13), Martha Montello discusses the treatment of bioethical issues in literary works that "lean toward science fiction" without discussing any examples from science fiction itself, which offers interesting, incisive considerations of bioethical concerns in abundance.
