Doctors Who Are Educated Abroad
To the Editor:
"Sun, Sand, and an M.D." (The Chronicle, October 28) presented an issue of concern but failed to provide much meaningful information. While it is true that there is no mechanism in place to evaluate the educational effectiveness of medical schools in the Caribbean, this is also true for every foreign medical school. A graduate of a medical school in Europe or Australia, for example, is held to the same standard as a graduate of a school in the Caribbean. Many Americans
