The reasons U.S. students are shunning science Ph.D. programs are easy to understand if you look at the numbers carefully ("In a Lab With No American Graduate Students, a Professor Stresses Assimilation" and "A University Uses Quotas to Limit and Diversify Its Foreign Enrollments," May 14).
