Division II Council Approves Reporting of Graduation Rates
The headlines have been elsewhere, but the National Collegiate Athletic Association's second division is enacting its own set of academic reforms.
Those measures, however, stop well short of those taken in the NCAA's Division I, which is preparing to punish colleges when athletes don't measure up in class. Division II is close to approving a rule simply calling for its colleges to do a better job of measuring athletes' academic progress.
