'Disturbing Qualities' of Narnia on Screen and in Print
To the Editor:
As a lifetime lover of great children's books, I have great sympathy with Michael Nelson's project of defending The Chronicles of Narnia against the ideological attacks of critics like Philip Pullman, but I was horrified by the extent to which Nelson's article glossed over the truly disturbing qualities of The Chronicles that should not be forgotten by adult readers ("For the Love of Narnia," The Chronicle Review, December 2).
