Distance-Education Grants Get $30-Million in Budget Bill

In one of the final budget bills for the 2001 fiscal year, Congress last month approved the Education Department's $30-million request for an important distance-education-grant program.

The program is the Learning Anytime Anywhere Partnerships, or LAAP, and
