Dispute With Texas University Leads Larry McMurtry to Move Literary Center Off Campus

For four years, Larry McMurtry has lent his considerable fame to a literary center at small Midwestern State University. Now, in a dispute over control, the Pulitzer Prize-winning author is moving the center off campus.

The McMurtry Center for the Arts and Humanities was doing just fine, says Mr. McMurtry, until last fall, when Henry Moon became president of the Texasinstitution.
