Director of Association of State Higher-Education Chiefs to Step Down

After 16 years as head of the national association representing the leaders of state higher-education systems, James R. Mingle has announced that he will step down in April.

The executive director of the State Higher Education Executive Officers says he will continue his work on state and national higher-education projects as an independent consultant.

It was "time for personal and organizational change," he told the association's board.
