Different Flings for Different Wings
In the offbeat 1999 movie But I'm a Cheerleader, the hapless lesbian Megan Bloomfield is exiled to a rehabilitation camp for adolescents suspected of harboring homosexual tendencies. There she undergoes group counseling to reveal the roots of her lesbian leanings. Despite its over-the-top style and somewhat unconvincing casting of RuPaul as a butch camp counselor, the movie has a valid point: We can't help speculating about the causes of the behaviors that people engage in.
