Dickinson College Buys Franchise for a Sylvan Learning Center
Dickinson College announced in March that it had bought a franchise of Sylvan Learning Centers, making it the first U.S. college to own and operate one of the centers, which offer tutoring and enrichment to elementary- and high-school students.
Officials of the liberal-arts college in Carlisle, Pa., characterized the deal as a way to earn extra income while serving the local community.
The franchise isn't Dickinson's first tie to Sylvan. In January
