Despite Small Gains, Women and Minority-Group Members Still Land Few Jobs in College Sports, Report Says
White men continue to hold the purse strings in college sports.
So said a report released in December by the Institute for Diversity and Ethics in Sport at the University of Central Florida.
The report, "The 2005 Racial and Gender Report Card: College Sports" (http://www.tidesport.org), found that while about 20 percent of athletes in Division I-A, the National Collegiate Athletic Association's top level, were members of racial minorities, only a tiny fraction of conference
