Desegregation Pacts Set in Maryland, Tennessee, and Louisiana
Education officials in Maryland, Tennessee, and Louisiana struck agreements in December aimed at ending decades-long disputes over lingering segregation in their public systems of higher education.
The three are among 11 states that the federal government has not certified as being officially desegregated.
