Dearth of Black Coaches Could Prompt Lawsuits
Just 6 percent of job openings for head football coaches in big-time college athletics programs in the past year went to members of minority groups, according to a report released last week by the Black Coaches Association.
The findings led the association to say that it would consider suing a college or university for racial discrimination if the institution did not try to interview at least one minority candidate for a head-coaching job.
