Deadline Nears for Colleges Seeking Reimbursement for Asbestos Removal
Colleges that have footed the bill for removing asbestos-containing materials from their campuses may be able to recoup some of the cost if they can get the work done by March 15.
That's the deadline for tapping into a $50-million fund, the result of a class-action lawsuit filed 19 years ago against asbestos companies. The National Association of College and University Business Officers and the American Council on Education helped to organize the group of higher-education institutions
