David Horowitz and Conservative Intellectuals

To the Editor:

Given the fact that I am anathema to most of your readers and supporters, Jennifer Jacobson's article "What Makes David Run" (The Chronicle, May 6) is fair-minded, although it has the usual emphasis (lacking in any article known to me about leftists and "liberals") on income, monetary support, and the like. It also attributes to me one sentiment I don't remember expressing (the desire to be an academic "scholar"), and a personal desperation to be included in the academy
