'Das Experiment'
What it is: A German film about a two-week psychological experiment that goes awry. Test subjects assigned to play guards mutiny and then torture subjects assigned to play prisoners; one prisoner is murdered, and a researcher is raped. The movie is very loosely based on a notorious experiment conducted in 1971 at Stanford University.
