DNA Evidence Links Jefferson to a Slave

DNA evidence has shed some light on what has been called America's oldest Presidential sex scandal. Scientists say DNA evidence shows that the rumor that Thomas Jefferson was the father of one of his slaves' sons may well be true.

Eugene A. Foster, a pathologist who has retired from the University of Virginia, collected some blood samples from descendants of Sally Hemings, one of Thomas Jefferson's slaves;
