Cutting Remarks
Lately, a column in the Columbia University Record, the university's official newspaper, has had as many holes as a piece of Swiss cheese.
Thomas Mathewson, managing secretary of the University Senate, has written the "From the Senate" column in the weekly paper for 10 years.
At a session in September, Eugene Litwak, a professor of sociology, criticized the university's provost for, among other things, failing to release information on faculty pay. According to Senate minutes,
