Cuts Threaten U. of Calif.'s Online Help for High-School Students
Looming state-budget cuts may eliminate an online program run by the University of California at Santa Cruz that provides college courses to California high-school students.
The program, which is five years old, offers advanced-placement, honors, and college-preparatory courses to more than 5,000 high-school students across the state via distance education. Most of the students are from low-income areas.
